Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18 years to 27 years as on 01.01.2015. The Upper age limit is relaxable for SC / ST candidates of West Bengal Only up to 05 years and 03 years for OBC-A / OBC-B candidates of West Bengal only. The upper age limit is also relaxable for the Ex-serviceman / Home Guard serving in Kolkata Police only as per existing Govt. Rules.
Scale of Pay: Rs.5400 - 25200 (PB 2) + 2600 (Grade Pay), other admissible allowances and the prospect of future promotion are subject to existing Rule.
Physical Standard:
a) For the Post of Constable:
1. Minimum Height: 167 cms.
2. Minimum Chest: 78 cms. With minimum expansion of 5 cms. by inhalation.
3. Minimum Weight: Proportionate to height as per medical standard.
b) For the post of Lady Constable:
1. Minimum Height - 160 cms.
2. Minimum Weight - Proportionate to height as per medical standard.
Selection Procedure: Selection process will be made on the basis of their performance in (i) Physical Measurement Test (PMT), (ii) Physical Efficiency Test (PET), (iii) Written Test, (iv) Interview, (v) Medical Examination, (vi) Verification of Character and Antecedents, (vii) Training.
Examination Fee: All categories of candidates, like those who belong to ST & SC (of West Bengal only), should pay application fees of Rs.150/-.
NOTE: No exemption of fees is available to the SC / ST candidates of other states. They shall be treated as candidates of General Category.
